Props & Modifications
Duration: 30 minutes
Props Needed: Yoga blocks, strap, bolster, blanket (or household
alternatives listed below)
Level: All levels
Props aren’t just for beginners—they’re powerful tools that support, deepen, and enhance your yoga practice. In this class, we’ll explore how to use props to modify common postures safely, making yoga more accessible and comfortable while maintaining integrity in alignment. You’ll learn how blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets can bridge gaps in flexibility, relieve tension, and help you find more ease and depth in your practice.
I recommend starting with this class before diving into the others. By understanding how to use props and modifications, you’ll build a strong foundation that allows you to move through your practice with greater confidence, ease, and alignment.
No yoga props? No problem! You can substitute with:
Strap → A rolled-up beach towel
Blocks → Two thick, sturdy hardcover books
Bolster → A very dense pillow
Whether you're new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, this class will empower you to listen to your body and use props with confidence. A strong foundation leads to sustainable growth—so let’s make your practice work for you.
